Thank you so much, Hopkirk. I will check that out.
Ellie, it depends on a lot of things regards selling, Year / Mot / Condition / History / Owners / Bodywork / Mileage / Cam Belt Changed ( If it has been changed & when), / Petrol / Diesel.
I know webuyanycar.com comes in for a lot of criticism however, I put the details of my car into their website, sold the car to them, and was extremely satisfied with both the service and the price, £20 under what I had expected to achieve, and without hassle.

Good luck
Question Author
Thank you, TWR. I assume the main things would be year, mileage and condition.
Question Author
Thank you Garador. I will definitely look into that.
Garador, you might have had a good deal but you are the first I have heard say that, they offered me a price for my sons car, I sent them a Mail Back, ha ha ha, now tell me the Joke, they did not respond, but that's my opinion.
If you intend to sell Private Ellie, get the car Valeted, If someone comes make sure you have someone with you, make sure they have insurance if they want a test drive, if they pay by cheque, do not release the car until the cheque clears.
Question Author
Thanks TWR. I actually have a potential buyer but not sure what would be a fair price.
I use completed listings on ebay these days.
Ellie, what is the car / Condition / Make / MOT / Miles / this will determine your asking price.
Do not be pushed Ellie, when you get an Idea of the Rice regards your car, add a couple to allow you to reduce, don't forget their Insurance when a Trail is requested, To sell, As Seen / Tried / Tested / Approved / with the Radio Code / make sure you have your selling details right, there's a lot of FLY GUYS / Girls out there.

Thanks Tora and TWR.
It's a Citroen C4, SX HDI (110), 5 Door, Diesel Hatchback. Engine 1560, Year of make 01/01/05. I have had it from new, it's in very good condition and has 71,500 miles on the clock. It's MOT'd until June. Any ideas as to what would be a fair price to ask?
ellie...you could use this free valuation guide from What Car?

http://www.whatcar.com/valuations
Depends on the condition, Re/ Dents / Scratches / the car has done 75000 whih is not a ;lot for a derv but some people don't think like that, I don't know the Cleanliness of your car but if I look for a car that is a very important Issue, Do you smoke? that's an Issue regards Price, tears in the seats etc, but going off what you say I think a fair asking price will be around £16>>>£1800, you will be very lucky to get the later, but don't go for the very lowest price of around £14>>>>>£1500, but make sure you are not on your own when selling for Safety reasons, As said, if a cheque is handed to you, do NOT HAND OVER the V5 ( Log Book) until the Cheque has cleared, & if they want a test drive, ask if they have the Insurance cover, if not YOU DRIVE & Explain the reason, It's too late when they bump the car.

Last deal we did, we went to Webuyanycar and got a price then used that as a starting point at the dealers, got £500 more from the dealer and came away happy with the deal we did!
Question Author
