Ford alarms are notoriously bollox for that.  Just about anything can set them off.  The usual thing which leaves you wondering why is cats jumping onto the car.  When the alarm goes off the cat scares and legs it.  Also rain and high winds are common causes.

More than likely the sensors are set to sensitive. Go to a Ford dealer and ask for a freebie. If not go to a small independant audio/alarm outlet for them to adjust it. Only problem will be if it is not a factory alarm and nobody knows where the sensors will be. If all go to plan it should only be about twenty quid to reset.
