Bought a new car last year, road tax was due 28Feb, only have reg docs, so went on line to do it and its saying my car is taxed till may? What, disc says 28/2/15, question is what do I do now? Will I be able to speak to someone at DVLA? Or should I go to Post office. Thanks for any helpful info

The PO won't be able to help. Best to speak to someone at DVLA.
if dvla says its taxed on line then take a snap shot of the screen saying it is.
you dont get a tax disc now anyway so id leave it till your tax reminder arrives
p.s if a warden has to check your car or the police for some reason they are linked up to the dvla so they will see the same info as yourself

I have tried to buy the tax on line, using reg docs but still saying taxed till may, how do I take a screen shot, using the computer I have a windows surface, thanks again for help.
Did you buy the car new, or did you buy it from a dealer late in December last year? If the latter, the new rules say that the tax the dealer put on last March would be refunded to him automatically and he probably bought a 6-month tax for you - no tax disc would be given to him and he just didn't bother to remove the old one from the car.
to take a screen shot: press print. The go into programs - accessories and open "paint". hit CTRL+V at the same time, this will past the screen into the paint doc, then save.

As above DVLA thinks the car is taxed to end of May, sounds like the the person who actually taxed it got a refund and the dealer taxed it for 6 months in December. Fear not you are taxed, forget the disc. Wait for a DVLA reminder.
If it says it is taxed until May then it is taxed until May.

Simples.
Exactly what bhg481 said. Since the 1st October you can't transfer the outstanding road fund licence to the new owner. You get an automatic refund when you sell the vehicle. The vendor must have obtained 6 months road tax for you, in your name, when he sold you the car and just left the old disc in the window. As you no longer display a tax disc you need to renew the tax when the reminder comes. In your case you'll get a reminder in may.
