My girlfriend bought a used 62 plate from a Ford dealership and was offered a years mot, so a week later we went back to have the mot completed and it came up with advisory notes that the left and right hand side disk brakes were worn. Nothing had been mentioned about the worn disk brakes at the point of sale and since the mot was completed the left hand side wheel has a squeek and the brakes in general have become worse when using them. We brought this to the attention of the dealership who looked at the squeek and said they could find nothing, even though it's quite evident it can be heard. I requested a call back from the service department manager over a week ago and no call has been received.. What do you think should be my next steps to get this matter sorted?
If the discs / pads were ok on the MOT there is no problem & the garage is in order, regards the squeek, that will be one of the pads, I would go to the garsge and have a word with the manager.
It seems you were offered a free MOT test not a car with a year's MOT, quite a difference. As it was an advisory I don't see what you can do, in fact you may have got away lightly, it could have thrown up far worse problems. Did you not have an independent mechanical check?
