Putting Your Own Cones Out......
50 Answers
In a street near me, I regularly drive down I see a house that puts cones like these out: http:// thumbs. dreamst ime.com /z/no-p arking- cones-2 748458. jpg i.e. like the police ones bu without the word "police" - Now I know they have no legal standing etc etc but is it in fact illegal to put out cones displaying a restricted parking sign ie extending the law for their own usage? Is it legal to put any cones out or any device to prevent parking on the public highway?

"Parking is allowed for up to four vehicles (including funeral vehicles) at the home or residence, of the immediate family. For those attending events such as a wake, free parking is not permitted. Visitor permits can be acquired for this.
A note must be displayed in the vehicle, which must be obtained from the funeral organiser (no more than four vehicles including official funeral vehicles.)
In addition cones can be delivered which allow you to cordon off an area for the funeral vehicles to park. Please note that 48 hours notification is required for cones."

//I would...why not ? rather akin to a German putting out a towel on a sun bed...I ignore them too !//
loq ( laugh out quietly)
That reminds me of that comedy programme on tv about those tourists in spain somewhere , which i happened to catch a glimpse of last night
One of the couples were challenged by the hotel staff who told them that it was against the hotel rules to reserve sunbeds by the pool with your towel
Along came another couple who proceeded to swap towels with the first couple
