Biggest Gap In Income And Spending Since...

I'm a complete girl too...
Car (Corsa, 96) wouldn't start some weeks ago, called the RAC and they changed the battery. Have had no problems since until this morning when it wouldn't start again. This time was much different, battery worked strongly, it just seemed like the car didn't 'catch' (technical lingo!).
There is definitely petrol in it... I think...but I'd like to know what it could be (old spark plugs, moisture etc) before calling the garage. Mind you - I'd have to start it first to get it there...
Thanks for any help...

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Yes - that would be the logical thing. However have called them out 3 times in the past 3 months and you only get 5 callouts a year! I'm trying to ration myself....
And I'd also like the challenge of perhaps fixing it myself (with the help of Mr Haynes obviously) but I need to know what it could possibly be first!! lol
Afternoon!
If the car is turning over then your battery and starter motor are good. The engine could have flooded if you tried to start it numerous times (as stated previously). If so the problem should clear itself. It sounds to me like it could be a fuel problem or a spark problem. A quick spray of WD40 round the ditributor and plungs wouldn't hurt (although to be honest moisture would probably cause a misfire rather than a non-start). Can you hear the fuel pump working? Had a similar problem once and the fuse for the fuel pump was gone. If you know where the fuel pump is you could try and listen out for it. Before you go to a garage I might try the RAC again (do they really limit your call outs - thats rubbish!)
