either - once when i used to work in the community i completed some notes nd ate my lunch in the car while it was cleaned. In supermarkets, i am usually doing shopping!
If it is just a straight wash, you can stay in the car, and make or avoid eye contact depending how you feel.
If it is a mini-valet - available where I am for only £10 - I get out and sit on the chairs provided, and I read the book I take with me to kill the time.
It's just what you feel more relaxed with - I doubt the washers are bothered either way.
If I'm just having the basic wash I wait in the car, anything else I do the same as Tilly and pop round to local cafe, about 20 yards away and have a coffee.
At my car wash they want us to sit in, at one point in the wash they tap the windscreen and we move the car back a couple of feet, so they can clean the tyres properly apparently.
Thanks all!! There's nowhere to go at the one I've got in mind, cafes or shops etc, so I'll play it by ear...if they seem friendly I'll ask them what do most folks do ;)
Andy, I'm guessing the mini-valet involves some interior cleaning? I'm not ready for that yet, thanks ;)
If I just want the outside done I stay in the car, if I want the inside doing I get out and sit on the bench providec where there are usually newspapers.
