Slightly Corroded Break Pipe

I my fiesta passed mot today but was advised of slightly corroded break pipe. They said just get it sorted before next mot. Is this safe

It shouldn't be a problem.

I had a 'slightly corroded brake pipe' reported in my MOT test last year. My garage replaced it last week, in preparation for this year's MOT.

It must be safe, or they wouldn't give you an MOT.

I would wager that it will pass next year as well.

as it was only an advisory it will be safe to use but probably best to get it done at your next service, as you've basically been told it wont pass next year

If it were not safe the car would have failed the MoT. As Buenchico says, it's just a warning for you to get it done at your convenience.

I had that on my Advisory note for 3 years

I thought advisories were things that were not permitted to reoccur on consecutive tests?

It's a "get this fixed by next year, or else" warning. I thought.

I usually get any advisories done straight away but because he said he wouldn't worry about it, I wasn't sure

It's a standard way of getting some work (and dosh) out of the gullible from MOT's. If it was dangerous it would not have been passed.

TTT, certainly sounds like it, can't think what else she could have meant.

Khandro is bang on that's one of their favourites. In fact my BMW failed on that and he said it would take 6 hours to drop the back axle etc to change a tuppenny halfpenny brake pipe! I said no way jose and got a second opinion. The other garage managed to change it without all the attendant BS.

If it wasn't safe, it wouldn't have passed the MOT Maggie, but get it fixed ASAP !

Whenever I had an advisory I either did the work myself of got it done by another garage.

That's all it is Maggie, an advisory, if they did not tell you & the MOT Inspectors retested the car at the same garage, the Garage "Could Loose" it's MOT Status / Cert.
