Loss Of Power.

I need some help,my daughters car is behaving badly, she is going at 40mph
And wants to increase her speed when she presses the pedal down the Rev counter goes flying to the top,the engine screams but the car does not speed up the Rev counter returns to normal,she can drive normal.
This doesn't happen all the time.

My first guess would be that the clutch could be slipping .... but let's wait for the experts to arrive ....

clutch going ,unless it automatic if it is better get saving up

yes, as above, the clutch is knackered.

two things can cause this, as said Clutch & also oil on the Clutch plate, either way kit has to be changed, what car is it? do not jump at the first price Quoted, do not go to a dealer use a family run Garage but get a quote first.
