Do Tyre Pressure Sensors Have To Be Fitted By Dealerships?
Following a puncture, my tyre valve, with a sensor attached was damaged.
The replacement part costs £25 (funny how you can't just buy a valve anymore and just connect it to the sensor!!)
Anyhow my garage then told me it would cost another £60 to fit the valve and sensor as it has to be programmed into the EMS and aligned with the other 3 sensors!
Is this correct or just a dealership trying to make even more money??

I bought a set of Tyrepal sensors which just screw onto the valve, replacing the cap. If a valve is damaged it can just be replaced and the sensor moved onto the new valve. If a sensor is damaged a replacement can be bought (£33, I think) and just screwed onto the valve. It has to be programmed to the receiver but that is a 2-minute job that you do yourself.
