if you needed tyres fitted you would rather they were fitted at your home or your workplace . right ?
just an idea atm........but , im wrecking my brains about starting out on a small business for myself, something simple just to bring a wage in. low overheads , easy enough to operate and the way i see it there is good potential to make money. i allready have a friend lives 30 miles from me who will give me the number of 2 main tyre suppliers in the country, i can buy tyres off them for around £17-18 new and fit them for £40-£45 .
anyone know of this type of business ? pitfalls etc. THANKS

Apart from price I think most people put reliability high on their list and would use somewhere reputable rather than an unknown. Also I expect my tyre to be in stock or got in really quickly, you'd need some large storage space too. Islay also makes a very good point too.
I admire you looking for business ideas, it may not interest you but the one thing I can't get round me is anyone to clean windows!

Before I`d risk my and my families safety I`d have to be sure that you could at least offer a comparable range and service. I am particularly picky on balance and tracking issues so could the equipment you envisage match the best. The costs of setup and insurance and the number of jobs you could get to in a day would make it a rush I would think.
Good idea DD but personally I prefer to drive my car onto a ramp and sit in the warm while the tyres are changed. I like to chose good tyres and have them balanced. My driveway at home is on a slope and covered in moss, you'd curse it! At work I either Park and Ride -cold and bleak place to wait for a tyre change, or I park in a very small parking space with no room around it.
I think the practicailites of mobile tyre fitting are limited. Sorry to disappoint but I am just being honest. We buy certain things with our eyes, ie we see a tyre place and then when we need it we drive in.
Gardeners on the other hand are hard to find. Can you mow lawns and prune shrubs? Now you're talking!

Not a new idea , there are several in my area, they will go to your workplace and change the tyres while you are at work or come to your house or the roadside in an emergency. KwickFit have a mobile service that operates from most branches, so you will need to beat their prices. Yes, they do wheel balancing as well.
kwikfit prices - https:/ /www.kw ik-fit. com/tyr es/sear ch/resu lts/205 /45/17
tyres on my car are - 205-45-17 i can buy these for a third of the price kwik fit sell them for. approx £16 plus vat. and fit them for £45.00 approx. undercutting kwikfit by a mile.
i will be checking all other mobile tyre fitters prices this week. i have allready a friend who owns a lock up so no probs with storage plus wholesalers will deliver me tyres on a daily basis so no need for large stock.
i am also thinking of renting a yard or carpark and ..so options open. tools and equipment are not too expensive. i think 10k will cover all more than enough.
its worth a shot but that could change next few weeks if i run into any other unforeseen problems.
