lVAUXHALL VIVARO 2.0 CDTI-SWB-2007-CAMPER. 270k . full year MOT. was thinking of buying it as its only £4500. but is this problem listed below easy to fix and if so im wondering why current owner doesnt fix it himself ? he states in the ad -

" VERY TIDY ALLROUND CONDITION BUT SLUGGISH, STUCK IN LIMP MODE, THEN AFTER A COUPLE OF MILES THE SPANNER LIGHT COMES ON WITH THE HEATER PLUG LIGHT, BUT DRIVES FINE, JUST NOT AT FULL SPEED, THIS VAN WILL STILL TAKE YOU ON HOLIDAY . BUT CLEARLY NEEDS THAT PROBLEM SORTING, "

That sounds a bit dodgy, I would take an experienced mechanic with you before buying it. Beware!!

Forget it!
I would say quite risky!!! unless you could employ the services of a mechanic local to the vehicle to check it over and give you a report.

Engines are quite expensive if they need replacing!!

diesel...you need to get the fault code read...it may be a simple fix, however at that mileage its no bargain....keep looking.
How much would a reconned engine cost?
If it sounds too good to be true, then it is.

270k, No thanks.
do not touch with a bargepole, maybe an easy fix but probably wont be. Diesel and limp mode are 2 ingredients for a money pit.
