Sorry FP ...but I wont be driving in norwich(:)
Conducted by lads' magazine FHM, the survey also showed that Belfast had the drunkest drivers, and Bristol the safest. The calmest young drivers came from Lincoln, while the cars with the least modifications were owned by drivers from Leeds. The survey, aimed at 18-35 year old men, was based on more than 7,000 responses.
It showed:
- 70% of Tynesiders have been involved in a road rage incident in the past year, compared with the survey's national average of 41%
- 19% of drivers in Belfast reckon it is perfectly OK to get behind the wheel after six pints, while Salisbury in Wiltshire has the most sober drivers
- 44% of Liverpudlians, but only four per cent of Ipswich motorists, drive cars worth more than 20,000
- 18% of Welsh residents confessed to having a car worth less than 1,000
- Lada is the most offensive car, with Mazda the least offensive
- Two thirds of drivers in Norwich have caused a crash that has put someone in hospital - four times the national average. They also clock up the most miles per year and they have the most modifications to their cars
- A third of those polled in Newcastle have had sex in the back seat of a motor vehicle more than 20 times. The national average is less than five
- 36% of motorists from Aberdeen claim to have gone looking for sex in car parks, with the national average being 8%
- The most popular name for a car is Beast, but 83% do not call their car anything.
Commenting on the survey, FHM editor Ross Brown said: "Our readers have now provided us with a motoring guide far more useful than the A-Z. My advice would be to stay well clear of the roads in Belfast, never ride shotgun in a car called The Beast and never buy a second hand motor in Norwich."
