Over 70's shouldn't be driving, they cause far too many accidents as their eyesight/reactions have deteriorated

Use your bus pass
BJS, a short time before your licence is due for renewal you will receive notification if you are required to take an eye test.
I didn't Danny.
Sorry, missed the bit about SECOND renewal; I've only had one.
Not working Joe!

I find your remark very ageist - what will you do when you reach 70 ?

Very ageist comment. OH is a better driver than he's 83. Clean driving licence, like me he has full no-claims - maintained even during life in France and you've to be good to avoid some of the French! In fact, Joeluke I consider you very prejudiced.

Buss pass? Yesterday a 'consultation' bus parked in our village. The proposal is to withdraw our bus service completely. The buses run only Wednesday and Thursday, one in the morning to the nearby town and then back again just after lunch. Several people are in tears tonight and don't know how they'll manage. I'm stirring things as fast as I can to get a huge reaction.

Oi! Ed! You read this?
Joe Luke, I think more accidents are caused by young men than other groups, so ban them.
Hopkirk….agreed, 17 is too young to be driving, I’d make it 21

Youngsters problem is speed, with old folk it’s errors of judgement (local to me a few years ago a pensioner hit the accelerator instead of brake pedal whilst driving down the high street, ended up pining a young girl against a wall and she lost a leg)
Joe Luke "17 is too young to be driving" No it`s not. If you live in the country with no public transport you have to learn to drive at 17. My best mate at college had 7 driving lessons at aged 17 and passed her test first time. She has never had an accident.
Basically it comes down to the same old thing, doesn't it? People are different and you can't legislate to suit/cover all.
You can't call a user prejudiced and then make a sweeping hypocritical statement about French drivers.
Olivio, you ever been behind a French driving instructor who is on his phone whilst supposedly teaching?

Yes, I can make such a statement. Believe me, the Portuguese are (on the whole) even worse.

From whence do you get the 'hypocritical' word. I don't understand it in this context and, to be honest, I oppose it and would like you to justify it correctly. You seem to have taken a dislike to me for some reason.

I think you must be a very quarrelsome person. I shall probably ignore you in future - unless you change, of course :
That should have ended with :)
