Anyone know how much it cost to get a car returned from a compound after being seized?

Not me, but someone I know had their car clamped today for parking on a no waiting area on a side street in London.

Just curious how much it cost to release a car.

you are looking at a tow charge

so I cant imagine anything less than £250

i would have thought it depends on the particular compound .

For example vehicles clamped on behalf of the dvla , might differ from those clamped on behalf of a particular council

I am guessing it would be a council compound as the vehicle has tax and insurance, just parked in the wrong place.
