Hi, mdoo98  The reason I need to know what the differences are from a drivers point of view on the latest Renault auto box ,ie.auto pro active and sequencial control and a ordnary Tiptronic auto box as used in other cars  is ,I want to take the advanced driving test and have been told the are no examiners qualified to test me on a car fitted with with this pro active auto box. Its got its own ecu linked to the main ecu and does its own thing whatever mode you chose, as I said nobody really knows not even Renault uk.There are not many  Luganas out there fitted with this auto box. Thanks for replying. ollydineen.

Many thanks,mdoo98 13/10/05.Its the first sensible answer Ive had.Yes, the auto box does go into protect mode on down shift also does the same thing in manual mode.I shall just have to get used to it ,and press on. Ihave found a paper on Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents  web site regarding automatic gearboxs.I think I am winning the battle on this one.I agree its a Renault spin.Cheers.
