Has Anyone Ever Used The Ford Privilege Discount Scheme?

I've been looking for a change of car for a while now, and as my brother works for Ford I thought I would try and take advantage of the scheme, but so far, I've not had any great looking deals at all. I only want a basic Fiesta zetec, the 1.25, as this is the cheapest car covered on the scheme. The best offer I've had is £146 per month with a £500 deposit. That was with a dealership on Carwow ( so already got a discount ) then a further £1250 off with the privilege voucher. I've seen much better deals at loads of car dealers. My brother said with a £500 deposit I should be able to get something for around £110-£120 per month. Has anyone else ever used this and got themselves a good deal?

Its all smoke and mirrors. The dealer and Ford make their profits from finance. Dont get hooked. I went to one of the big car supermarkets (Motorpoint) and bought a low mileage one year old Focus for less than half the price of a new one. Original warranty still in place.
Pay cash if you can. Finance is rapacious. If you can get your head round the fact that you are 'losing' your Ford discount there are my makes as good as or better than Ford.Apologies to your brother. Look in AUTOTRADER..

Another option - at the time i was looking one of the big dealers (Toyota} was offering new cars with forecourt mileage only 200mls) with 30% off. They are classed as second owner which accounts for the difference in price.
sorry, my makes should say many makes (line 6)

No apology needed. You're right, I've sacked off the idea. Saw a 66 plate Fiesta today with delivery mileage 4 grand less than the rrp for a new one! Had 3 quotes now with the discount, none of which were anything special. The advantage with the scheme was that you could by a brand new car with the discount, then sell it 9 months later and actually make a profit. My brother has actually done that a few times, but it can't be done at the mo with the current Fiesta anyway because the current model is coming to an end so they're pretty heavily discounted now anyway, and when the new shape comes out in the summer, the value of the current model will go down even more. Actually saw a VW dealer today doing a great deal on new polo's. Anyway, think I'll be sticking to a decent second hand model after all that.
