Recently Purchased Car Has Broken Down- Advice On Warranty
6 Answers
Hi there
I purchased a second hand BMW on 1st September and since owning it have driven 200 miles. On Monday I took it to a local Halfords for an independent health check and it only came back with one minor issue.
Today my car would not start and has been found to have a list of issues one of which is that a cylinder is misfiring. It is now being towed back to the company I bought it from.
My questions are
1) do I have any redress with Halfords who did not pick up any of these issues on the free health check
2) the car garage I got the BMW from gave me a three month warranty. But because the garage is 30 miles away from where I live I had to pay the RAC to tow it back. The garage I bought the car from are refusing to cover the cost.
Where do I stand on all of the above? Any advice gratefully received!

You can't claim the tow fee back, the warranty only covers the repairs, You should have phoned the BMW dealer and asked them to come and collect it as it was undriveable, then they would have had to collect it.
