Toyota 2000 Gt - Wing Panel??

anyone any idea what the rectangular panel in the front wing is for, they are on both sides, thanks.

I believe they were access panels for the battery, air filter and (possibly) the washer reservoir as the curve of the wings and the small bonnet opening meant they couldn’t be accessed from above.
Apparently they are hinged panels which house the battery, filter and windscreen washer reservoir.
