If you’re on a 2 lane approach to a roundabout that has exits left, straight ahead and right should you be in lane 1 or lane 2 as you enter the roundabout if you’re going straight ahead? There are no indications on the carriageway in this example.

So if you are going straight ahead it could be you are alongside another vehicle and the far side exit may not be wide enough Therefore it is the safest to be in the left lane on the approach.
