Called in to my local PO today for a IDP. Staff member said after glancing at something We can’t issue them till March 1st. Then I can get one over the counter. Anyone had same experience. Anyone know what the problem is. Will try another PO to see if I have same response Thanks

Have done that M, after returning home. The PO I visited is among those listed. On further search, the AA and RAC have stopped issuing them and both have a link sending you to the PO. Maybe it’s a stocking logistic problem.
It could be Bob, have you time to wait until March?

There is no mention of the date you gave.
I'm amazed that the AA and RAC no longer issue them. Prior to the EEC style licences I always popped into the AA office in Leicester Square or King St, Hammersmith. I wonder if,post Brexit , those of us with the EEC photo card licenses will have to change them back for a UK driving licence
Yes, they are just slow to give out information to every person working for them. Well, they are a gov. office, no wonder.

Anyways, a nice map with all the countries that require the IDP can be found here https://www.vehicle-rent.com/en/international-driving-permit-in-which-countries-do-you-need-It/blog/
