Future Classic......

OK putting this out there, what car of the last, say 25 years is now pretty cheap but will become a future classic?

If you google "classic car of the future", you'll find several websites providing suggestions. Most of them though concentrate on the luxury end of the car market. However this RAC link includes some far more reasonably priced models:

I note that the Citroen XM is listed there. Looking at the prices they're currently being offered for, it seems that some people already think that it's achieved 'classic car' status:

If I had more spare money, I'd back the Mazda MX5 as a model with a future.

The Mazda MX5 is given the Number 1 spot in my RAC link, 4candles. I agree that it's clearly a 'classic car' of the future.

I'm pleased that there's a Saab in the list though. Can you guess what I drive? ;-)

Had an MG ZT 180 until somebody wrote it off last year. It was parked on a wide sunlit road and they said they never saw it. I'm still in mourning.

I'm still driving a future classic...A 2000 SC Saturn...At least it's a classic to me:)

I really think that classics,imo, have disappeared in the last 25 years and any survive will not be cheap.
Rover 3.5S P6. Manual., MGB GT 3.5, Rover SD1 2200 and later 3.5, Triumph 2.5 TC and PI. You wont see these classics knocking about in Sainsbury's car park

thanks all, some good suggestions, I'll do some looking around. This came about last night because about 15 years ago I nearly bought a BMW 850 V12 for around £4k, I had a look last night to see if any were still about and they were 12.5K - 25k!

A Ford Victoria as it must be a candidate for the worst car ever built, a sponge on wheels and talk about under-steer - turn the wheel either way and about five seconds later the hulk comes around - and the brakes, what breaks? Has to be a candidate.
