For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.SRS, is the safety system in your car, ie airbag and seat belt pretensioners and crash sensors, it should go out after a few seconds but if the light is staying on, there is a fault somewhere in the system and probably best left for a qualified technician to check out.
It wont be anything to do with the misfiring.
As tigga mentions, the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) runs a diagnostic pre-test when the engine is started. Since the light is still illuminated it has detected a fault and disabled the system.
You will have to take it to a Rover garage who will then connect special diagnostic equipment to find out what is wrong with the system. It may just need resetting but it might be something more serious.
