Best Way To Test All Your Laptop Hardware For Signs Of Near Failure Etc?
7 Answers
(see previous post for details of why i want to do this)
I've run the diagnostics that comes with the os - (its windows 10)
ive scoured the BIOS, but only issue given is the fan.
i want to check the health of everything and see if the faulty fan has caused any other problems/damage, or if anything else is struggling and about to fail.
is there anything better out there that will give a more in depth scan of the system? software? another diagnostic setting already installed etc.
or even individual tests i can run on each part?
I want to know the condition of everything, just in case its not that easy to sort out the refund - and whether just buying a new fan, will give me a pretty perfect machine, and is it worth me just doing that, in order to get what is so far a great machine (other than the fan)
i know only too well, that even brand new machines can have faults and any part in any machine can fail any time, so if i return it, buy an identical model - i may end up worse off, with a fault with a more serious part.
thanks

thanks buen - i did look on ebay but there were none at the time.
this one and a good few others of same model were around the 600 mark on amazon, and listed as 'as new' - so i assumed they were ones sent back after 30 days. some still are - some are 700. it may be that they have something 'more' or different added to the specs in the refurb, so cost more.
ill keep an eye on that one though.

If you don't need the massive amount of drive space offered by the Dell machine, this might be a better alternative:

That's a fantastically well-resourced machine, from a seller that I totally trust. (I've bought loads of stuff from them, both for myself and on behalf of others. Their products and service are always first class). I've recommended that machine to two ABers already, both of whom have gone on to buy it and who've been well-pleased with their purchases.
