Disposing Of Number Plates

What does one do with a set of defunct old number plates - cut up and put in the recycling, household rubbish or what?

I've always just snapped them in half and put them in the recycling bin.

LOL, in my case it's when I've replaced number plates with the EU flag on the side of them. Can't be driving about in a car displaying the EU flag.

Thanks all, the old ones are plastic so I'll snap and put in recycling after a bit of defacing. LOL Tony, I've just had replacements made and chose not to have the blue flag.

I bought two stickers with the Unionnflag and the Cross of St George.They fit nicely over the EU flag. Got my GB sticker attached as well. Driving to Arnhem via France/Belgium soon.

'MoT' every 2 years, no road tax (small levy on insurance covers that), insurance is equal or less than UK but covers the car not the driver so any driver, fully comp, also includes recovery and emergency assistance - if I break a leg up a mountain car insurance covers it.... Much better deal.

I'm delighted that my current car has an EU number plate which I'll hang on to as long as possible.
