My OH has just taken a phone call re his life insurance from his insurer to confirm his address and postcode and to tel, him they’d put £300 toward his funeral costs through ‘ Gold Charter’ other than that they never asked or got any other info, bad timing or what? And they said the name of our insurance company , I could go mad with this bliddy trusting man of mine ( and have done) Checked the number ,it’s from Brighton 01273, can anyone tell me what a neutral call means, I rang it and after several rings of a long tone, it went silent

It sounds suspicious, certainly. If you can't get an answer from the company by phone, could you email them? A neutral call should usually set the alarm bells ringing with you. Have you actually tried to phone the insurance company?

01273 is our code so what was the rest of the number?

Not sure what a neutral phone call is but if your OH just gave them your address and post code the worst they can do is bombard you with spam mail , or sell on your phone number as 'live' I think.

I rang our insurance agent who confirms it’s a scam/ marketing call just to ignore it, they quoted our address,telephone number and post code and MY email address which will block them should anything come through, really annoys me that people have nothing better to do in such troubled times
