Hubby Put Petrol In His Diesel Car! Can I Use The Petrol For My Own Car Or Would It Damage The Engine?
Hi, silly hubby made a mistake and put around 25 litres of petrol in his diesel car. He thinks he had around 5 litres diesel in tank, so all got emptied and now sitting in the shed. 30 litres more or less the lot. Did some research and I think I can use it in my honda jazz (2011).
Just would like to be sure, wouldn't want to ruin my cars engine. Thanks in advance.

Use most of the fuel in the tank and then repeat the process. Repeat again until all the reclaimed stuff has been used up.
//If I was in the same position, I would just get rid of it. //
Lol sanmac. The last time I was in Ontario (Queensville . Newmarket) my BIL was paying cents per litre when back here in blighty we were paying pounds. We were taken for a drive one B/H weekend and the moron went to the one attended filling station and filled up and his day was seriously ruined because the old boy who ran the station charged a cent per litre over the top because he worked on a B/L.There was no placating the idiot even when I told hm how much we were rooked off in tax. He just did not believe me. The next time my sister came to visit I gave her the fuel receipt to take back and show him how lucky he was. We both ran identical vehicles. His was a Plymouth Voyager and mine was a Chrysler Voyager and both had the same diesel engine.
We don't just get 'rid of fuel' over here if we can find a use for it. It's literally liquid gold though it must be said that it is cheaper to drink petrol than beer. :-(
