When I first start it from cold it seems to run very lumpy and cuts out unless I keep my foot on the accelerator, when it warms up it seems to run fine although, it has stalled a couple of times slowing at junctions, I was told it may need a software update, done at a Peugeot dealership, I would of thought a 2007 would of been a bit old for that, any ideas please.

It's 20 years now since I last owned a petrol car but "mucky plugs" was a favourite cause of lumpy running, as was the points. I suspect the diagnostic machine would have identified a faulty engine temperature sensor but engines have moved on so much since I last had problems that most of the things that gave problems back then have been made more robust so I can't think of any other suggestions offhand. Sorry.

Sounds like it needs a new idle control valve to me.

It's not necessary for the engine management light to come on before problems will show up on a diagnostic check. A couple of years ago at a routine service they commented that the diagnostic check had shown problems with one of the glow plugs since they know I keep the car in a garage they thought it wasn't worth doing anything about it. A year later another plug was also showing problems at the diagnostic check so I had them replaced. The engine management light never came on.
