My Bike is misfiring and sounds rough when out in the wet. Is it simply in need of an air filter and a service, or is it more serious. It only happens when it is wet. Thanks

Could be a couple of things, either the wet is getting to the electrics, especially the HT leads (Spark Plug leads), give everything a spray with WD40 or similar, or If you have no air filter, the excessive moisture getting straight into the cylinders is causing it to misfire.

I have driven through many summers and winters on my bikes, most of which have either K and N style "high flow" filters or none at all and have never experienced this as a problem so i'd go with the fist option !!

What is is by the way?

It`s a 2001 Fireblade. Sorry for the late answer, but I work nights.
This sounds like water getting on the ht leads or spark plug caps as Kat says but in my opinion when it gets to the stage where moisture causes these problem's it is past the time when WD40 can really help. It will work for a short time and then the problem will just come back again. You probably need to fit new ht cables and spark plug caps.
