my renewal was £50 more expensive this year, despite the fact my car has barely moved, and i will be continuing to WFH for at least the next 4 months.
I hate looking for new quotes, but needs must!
I get my car insurance through Post Office Insurance. The last time they wanted any significant increase, I spent most of two days using comparison websites and making phone calls but I still couldn't beat the quote that I'd been offered by them in the first place. So they might be worth a try. (My insurance premium through them has actually gone down a bit this year):

bednobs, I use gocompare every year for when house and car insurance renewals are due, always cheaper than current insurers quote. Go back to current insurer and they always manage to match quote. Have you explored a limited mileage policy?
I've been with Direct Line years - always cheaper than what I find on the comparison sites (I do check every year). That last few years it has gone up less than 50p a year, last year it was cheaper by £2 and then a few months ago they refunded around £11 because I wasn't driving so much - they called me about it.
