Can Someone Reccomend An Alloy Wheel Cleaner That Is Safe On Black Wheels?

My wife has just bought a Fiesta Zetec S with the afore mentioned black alloys. I am nervous using my staple wheel cleaner on them (Wonder Wheels) as it is acid, and I don't want to damage the finish. Has anyone got experience of using a product safely on black alloys?

Are you sure your cleaner is acid? All alloy wheels are metallic and acid attacks all metals (even stainless steel).

Even silver wheels are painted or finished in some way, so Wonder Wheels should not affect your black ones its onle the colour of the finish that is different and not the finish itself.

the best wheel cleaner is soap and water with a soft shampooing brush. Do it regularly and you never need the harsh chemicals.

Wonder wheels is definitely an acid solution in its original incarnation, it even smells acidic. Thanks for the tip on Wonder Wheels Dave, I will check that out today.
