Selling A Car On Ebay
My lovely little Merc failed its MOT yesterday. Apparently, the back brakes do not work and it needs a new master cylinder and even then the garage is not sure that is the problem. So I have decided that rather than pay a king's ransom to have it fixed I shall get shot. I shall have to drive Mr BM's car in the meantime. Mr BM is not desperately happy about me and his beloved A8, but that's tough.
It is actually a really nice car (save for the fact that it is a death trap) so I thought I might advertise it on Ebay as Spares or Repair (since it has no MOT and cannot be driven because it is DANGEROUS).
Any pointers for flogging a motor on Ebay, please? Clearly I shall disclose all the things on its MOT and make it clear it will need to be towed or trailored away.

However people who're looking for cars are possibly more likely to look on Autotrader than they are on eBay. For cars valued at less than £1000, a one-week listing on Autotrader is free, with up to 5 photos included. A 3-week listing, with up to 20 photos, costs just £9.95:

Thanks all.
Tony, my garage is local one but specialises in Mercs, BMWs etc. He's a good guy and I know him well. He's fairly certain it is the master cylinder so I'll take him at his word. Tbh, it was a cheap car that we bought when we just needed something to tide us over but I stuck with it and it doesnt owe me anything.
I've now got my eyes on a neat little SLK, but that's a daft idea on these roads. But hey, I can drive Mr BM's car when it's horrid....... (every cloud.....)

As a guide to what you might hope to get for your car, Barmaid, here are the current lowest priced ads for Mercs on Autotrader (some of which are marked as 'spares or repair'):
