... I installed a new bathroom light fitting today.

At one point I must have looked puzzled, because gness suggested I actually read the instructions (which, being a manly man, I had studiously ignored up to that point).

So I dug them out ... and gave thanks that my smallpox jabs were up to date ...

Now that's funny!! What on earth is an anastomosis? Sounds like one for Sqad.

To be fair, if I'd translated English instructions into Chinese it wouldn't even be this good ...

... but we have had a good chortle.
Dave. Sean in the next field says his house lights are flashing. Thought it was our new one that should be doing that?
If the purchased item included a diaphragm it might have translated to diarrhoea. Just as well it wasn't a period piece...

I hesitate to ask, but here goes: did you get it up Dave?

It's up and has remained in position for several hours - it's currently gone green and is flashing ...
I hope you gave it a long enough pull chord so Gness can operate it ;)
He got it up with the help of a ladder, Choux...work that one out.. ;-)

And it has a remote control believe it or not. Dave and his gadgets. As long as he doesn't put that on a high shelf I shouldn't have to light my way with a torch.
It also changes colour. Dave has just called...the bathroom's purple, Gness...oh joy.
All the colours of the speculum, eh?

:D
Not to mention the colours coming from the lanterns of chimney... :-)
Note to self. Always take the remote into the bathroom with you. Dave will mess about if it's left outside and you'll be weeing to changing colours and disco lights. Should never have given in when he found this light. I wanted a chandelier.... :-(
Dave according to instructions, light fitting should be attached to a chimney !
Indeed, Tony. 'twas a devil getting up on the roof.
No problems with low flying aircraft though, gness.
Hmmm....never thought of that, Tony. Wondering now if our Air, Sea, Rescue helicopter will be landing in the field.
Only if the light has a flash mode, gness.
It does, Tony. And now as dusk falls the ceiling is beginning to twinkle.... Luckily we have two bathrooms.
And now as dusk falls the ceiling is beginning to twinkle....

Sounds great, gness.
You married him, that's what you get for not getting them properly trained first. Next time he's out set it now you like it and then bury the remote in the local bog.

Doris is still trying to train me after forty nine years . . .
