Only I'm investing in the suite (hopefully) - I would love to buy a new mini car. Was talking to friend tonight and she is seriously thinking of buying . I think they're lovely. Anybody got one lately.

They do, but not the 3-door Tony.
Ah I see, ladybirder.
Now is not the time to change cars, new or second hand. Poor supply and high demand has inflated the prices

my deceased friend who drove the hubby's one hated it, she felt automatic sorta "controlled" it and not her - so that would make me nervous.

and for to trade the 25,000 mileage hyundai would only just give me £600 - wouldn't be much to add the price of the mini.

friend had also been thinking of a new Fiat - but I don't like them either. - she was going because it is smaller than the Mini
My youngest daughter has had two Fiat 500's ( against my advice I might add FIAT = Fix It Again Tomorrow ). Proved me totally wrong, she never had one problem with either of them ( I wouldn't drive them in daylight though ) ;-)
If you are looking for a higher car then Vauxhall mokka is quite high up whilst also being quite small
Tony Fiat 500s aren't built in Italy, which is probably why they are better built. They come from Poland, and the same factory used to build the Ford Ka.
I had a new Mini as a courtesy car while my 8 year old One was serviced. It was HUGE, and I felt very awkward driving it. I was glad to get my little one back.
Get an older one if you really want a Mini.
They’re fine for all ages, not just the younger set.
If you won't have an automatic you won't be going electric or hybrid as they are all autos (I think).

I have a RAV4 diesel - love it but the suspension is a bit hard - you feel the bumps. It's automatic but with manual/paddle shift option.

Only once been in a Jazz - the seats were so hard they made my bum ache!

My sister likes her Hyundai i10 (petrol) but not great on fuel.
Agree with Cloverjo. My mini is 8/9 yrs old. Very good. Have driven the new ones and didn't like the experience at all. I know someone else who borrowed a new mini and disliked it and they are professional driver. Said it was neither one thing nor the other.
Test drive an automatic, jenny - the driver is still very much in control.
i'd never go back to a manual now. I had a tiptronic gearbox car for a while and i liked that too
I have an automatic Vauxhall Mokka, big enough to make you feel safe but small enough to park without problems. I would not ever go back to manual for everyday driving but do have a Mazda MX5 for weekends and days out.

Thanks for all the answers but will leave the post as I couldn't leave my 25,000 miles hyundai which is 11 years old for a new mini . The wee car takes me from A to B and that does an oul lady like me LOL.
I bought mine last June, it's a three door Cooper, and my first ever car. It's a 68 plate (3 years old in Jan 22), it had less than 5,000 miles on the clock, I paid just under £13,000 for it. I absolutely love it, when you close the doors it sounds 'solid' if that makes sense? I feel safe in it and it makes me smile, with its quirky lighting. I was obsessed when I first saw the new Mini's with the Union flag lights on the rear, I have yearned for one ever since. I recently got a quote from Webuyanycar.com, and was pleasantly surprised that their offer was for more than I paid for it.
