I am waiting for another week or so then most should have full tanks and nowhere to put anymore then I wont have to queue for it.
There isn't a fuel shortage. Drivers have gone back to Poland (or somewhere else in the EU) during covid and not come back. Long-distance drivers have fed up with bad pay and conditions and become delivery drivers or retired. We hear "don't panic" and panic and fill up when we don't need to and buy a month's supply over the weekend.
Fuel delivery drivers have to have a special licence don't they? They are not generally long-distance HGV drivers, they go round a few garages & get home every night & they get better pay than other drivers. Fuel deliveries was always considered the cream of driving jobs.
There probably weren't many EU drivers doing fuel deliveries.
The shortage is probably due to retirees not being replaced by new entrants unable to train during Covid.
There would have been no widespread shortages but for media hype & mass panic.
