I had rust on rear tailgate around the lamp housing above the number plate. I was told the rust warranty didn't cover this even though the rust was there within 6months. Fords paid for the door to be resprayed as a 'special', but the rust is now back!!! I also have rust around both wing mirrors on the front doors but Fords are not interested as it is now 4 years old. These rust examples are referred to as contact points. The rust warranty does NOT cover what I would call manufacturing or design faults, also not stone chips but was quoted "only rust that comes from the inside" - useful???
Just as update Fords agreed to repair my rear tailgate door, but as I understand it as "good will", not due to the warranty. I paid for Fords to repair the rust under each wing mirror, which now having a better understanding of the anti perferoration warranty would never have been covered. So I'm happy with the outcome but disappointed in the low value of the anti perforation warranty.
