Citroen Xsara Picasso "56 Reg"

I hope that one of your clever ab'ers will be able to assist me, as my tailgate, "boot" won't open on my citroen xsara picasso. I had a problem with the boot a few weeks ago as a message kept coming up on the dashboard saying, "BOOT OPEN" but when I get out to check, it is locked. When I tried to lock the car at the end of the day, the central locking wouldn't work so I have to leave it open, yet I am still getting the same message to say the boot is open. I really hope that somebody will be able to help me with this problem.

there is a microswitch under the boot catch [probably cream crackered.

We had a similar problem this week. With ours the boot would pop open or lock like yours. It was the switch and was a half hour job at the local garage.

Thanks everybody for your help but I think I may need to drill through to try to open it, I have put a SORN on the car but I need to empty all my tools etc. out of the boot, I can get most things from inside but I need to get to the wiring for the dash cam, so I need to open the boot lid. Once again many thanks for your help, but I shall have to try opening it another way.

can you not open from inside? drop the back seats and crawl in with a screwdriver and ping it open.
