What's going on with all these questions about unlocking radios, is someone nicking them or something?

Tell you what, leave your lights on tonight, get a jumpstart tomorrow morning and see if you still need to ask! :c)

radios on the newer cars some times require a code to reset them if say the battery is flat or removed for some reason you will need to reenter the code to get it to work, this is ok if you are the origanal owner of the car from new but if your not and some one has changed the factory preset code to a personnel code then you will not be able to enter the correct code thus your radio,cd,tape will not work

Is there any way for someone to get the code displayed while the radio is still in normal use so that they can then note it down somewhere for later use ?
it's economics. it's a minimum of a fiver to get the radio unlocked once the code is lost. some forums ban this type of enquiry because of the suspicion that the radios are nicked. i'm not suggesting the people posting here are recieving stolen goods etc but there has been a lot of enquiries lately. moral of the story? answerbank is a very useful thing just try not to abuse it....
