Accident Injustice
1 Answers
I was involved in an accident last year which involved an articulated lorry which encroached my lane and collided with my car causing extensive damage. The police were called to the accident and after hearing this guys version of events asked me to move my car and told me I was lucky I wasn't charged with reckless driving! The guy crashed in to me, in my lane and I could've been charged with this?! To cut a very long story short, it was going to court and just before it did, the guy admitted full responsibility and I recieved a letter from my lawyer stating the this was the case and enclosed a cheque for 25.00 for my inconvenience! If they hadn't enclosed this cheque I would have put the matter to bed but because they thought 25.00 was to compensate me having no car for 4 weeks not to mention the state I have been in since the accident. I returned the cheque with a letter stating the above and am currently waiting on a reply from them but I feel that I should also be writing to the Police to complain about the officer who said I was lucky not to be charged with wreckless driving although I've recommended not to for obvious reasons!! i just feel that this whole thing is a complete injustice, what do you think, would you just accept it and let the whole thing go, even if you had spend over 400 on car hire? I am not intending to persue the matter but just wanted someone elses opinion.
