my punto smells of petrol when i am driving

There are quite a number of things that could be wrong but its proberbly just a naff engine.

Anything on a car causing fuel smell should be checked out immediately. Just to be on the safe side.

A common fault on the punto is the fuel filter they leak for fun check and you will find it is corroded o/s rear
