You would appear to be in the right area, clicking instead of starting is ususally either battery or starter motor. However the jump start would start the car if it was battery and bump starting should work if it was the starter. I would try these methods once more. I not then its time to call a mechanic/AA etc.
when jump starting im using a big battery pack thing which is designed for the job. got that recharging at the minute and when trying to bump start there was only 1 person pushing so it was hard to get momentum going.
got some re inforcments on the way so will give both another go.
hey mate the other thing it could be is the starter motor sticking try putting it in 4th gear and rocking the car back and forth, then take it out of gear and try starting it.
Update - tried bump and jump starting again and same problem... defienetly enough momentum to bump start this time..
we also aquired some jump cables and tried running off another car.. this time the engine was turning but not firing... tried for a while to no avail. there is a full tank of petrol in it aswell.
I got a tow today to the local garage and they said my battery is not keeping charge and it was my idle'r valve causing the ignition problem. Hope to have car back tommorow.
