When I buy a used car, from a dealer, should I be given the V5/ log book, or is this sent on to me from somewhere else? And the current MOT?

You will get the green slip (V5C/2) The dealer will put it in your name online and the new V5 will be sent to you from DVLA.

Should I have been given the current MOT ? I have the date when it is due for renewal.
BA?
yes with the MOT but you can print your own anyway. Or use this

Thanks Tora :)
do I get BA?
Is V5 an abbreviation of 'very needy'?
Question Author
What is BA and how can V5 mean Very Needy? Or Am I just being extra thick today?
You don't really need an MoT certificate nowadays. Anybody can check online what the MoT status of a vehicle is and the authorities just refer to the electronic record when you apply for tax etc.
If the MOT is due soon, I would want that done so I had a full 12 months before I had to think about it again.
Smurf, BA is best answer and Douglas was attempting humour
smurf, when it is your post each answer has a link top left saying "best answer" if you click that the BA is awarded to who posted it and it goes in the "best answer" box at the top of the post.
