Vauxhall Astra Engine management Warning Light

I changed the clutch in my astra a few days ago and when I started the engine up, the engine management light stayed on and now it wont go off. I have a look at the engine and made sure all the hoses and wires were connected properly. I noticed that the speedometer wasnt working either but I messed around with the speedo cable and the speedometer started working again, but the engine management light is still staying on. I think this is also causing the engine to rev up and down alot when car is in neutral, it also struggles to start sometimes.
