Public Shaming - Of A Cat

I am a mod on my local Nextdoor site.  Somebody has reported a post for 'public shaming'.  A chap has advertised some kittens genuinely free to good home (I always check, the rules forbid selling pets for profit) and somebody has reported him because in the listing he says 'my cat has been a naughty girl and had kittens.....'

Well he's an idiot becaus she'll be even more naughty and have more kittens if he doesn't do what he should have done and had her neutered.

To be fair the cat was a pregnant stray when she wandered in to his builders yard.  He tried to find the owner, took her to the vet to get scanned for a microchip and ended up adopting her.

He will get her neutered

I hate to say this, but kittens should be sold, if even only for a small sum. There are nasty people out there that will use small animals, including kittens, as food for snakes and other reptiles. Free food...win, win.

A small sum can be justified as not for profit as it covers food, litter, and any other expenses.

My cat was Brenda (the tart) she arrived pregnant, as soon as the kittens were weaned she had a very quick trip to the vets.  She also answered to slapper!

I also took in Minette a stray almost-fully-grown cat - only to be rewarded with kittens shortly later.  She was swiftly neutered, the kitties all went to good  homes and she became a wonderful mouser etc.. Superb cat, I twice saw her tackle and kill an aspic (small, venemous snake like an adder) this was in France.  She moved to UK with us when we returned.

I have heard of quite a few humans who were conned by a pregnant cat. 

She is looking for somewhere safe and warm to raise her babies - they are excellent at judging a person's character and trustworthiness.

They're a boring lot in my Nextdoor group - not much to moderate, really.

Wish I could ban those that advertise 'chester draws' for sale or are 'discusted' though

I don't think kittens should be advertised like this even if they are free.

How does the person know they are going to a good home unless he knows the people personally?

Are there not places where you can take kittens/puppies like the RSPSA?

Why do people have to have a go at people who try to do good?
