I've Fallen In Love With A Used Car

It's a Toyota Aygo, but the boot is too small! It's perfect in costs for me to run, but what should I do? The main reason I want a newer car is because I need a bigger boot. Should I compromise, look for something a little bigger, or what? Also, people I have spoken to say Toyota is best!

The boots too small and won't stretch.  Look for a car with a bigger boot, try the Honda Jazz

If the boot is too small, it's not the right car for you.

They are also very basic cars. 

There's plenty more fish in the sea.

Depends on what you need a bigger boot for and how often you will use it.  If you put the rear seats down would that solve the boot issue?

Treacle, I know you're a bit apprehensive about making a mistake.   I don't know if you're aware that the RAC offer a used car check.  That might be worth looking into.

Yes, I'll look into the Renault and the RAC is a good suggestion! I went to one of those car supermarkets today and had an awful experience. As soon as I said it was bumpy to drive, he lost interest and he wasn't as nice as at the beginning. Think I'd best stick to a proper dealer.

Have you considered a Yaris? A step up from an aygo and a much better car in all respects - very roomy for a smallidh car, feels solid, reasonable boot space. I sat in an aygo in a sales room and thought it was claustrophobic, plastic and tinny.

Thanks LB. I had a Yaris for a few years and loved it. Very spacious and a pleasure to drive. I now drive a Hyundai 1.10 (had one before) which I like but prefer my previous one: this one is a little bossy. I prefer to be in control of my driving.

Know what you mean Toorak.  My Jazz gives me destructions as to when to change gear up or down.  The cheek of it.  So annoying.  Great car though.

Mine is an automatic but it has lane assist which means that if I cross a line in the road without indicating (Because there's no-one around who needs to see) it tries to pull me back. It's also a manual automatic which means you feel all the gear changes, which I am not used to. Grrrr. I prefer my older model.

Just a word of warning - Peugeots can be very expensive if something goes wrong.
