Escorts and lights are notorious , always gave the back light casing a good brushing every now and again with a metal brush to avoid any shorting of the wiring, DOnt think this will help but maybe worth a go?
All bulbs and fuses are checked and fine. As for stalk replacement was brought breackers for a tenna working ( tested first)
checked concectors and both lamp and stalk ends and onwards cant see nothing
they did work b4 thats wot i cant understand on 1st mot
now nothing
thanks for the help ne ways
as for b4 comment im part dislex
Try using a multimeter or a bulb in a lampholder, one lead to earth to check for 12 volt power at the stalk, fuses, lamp connector etc. Does it normally have a dim circuit when parking lights and ignition are on and is it still working? If so it could be a relay or connector from the stalk, it could still be faulty. It is probably one connection somewhere controlling both lights.
No need to explain dyslexia, my son has the same problem.
I'd suggest you go back to the garage who replaced the stalk, armed with a copy of your receipt, and tell them to finish doing the job properly. It sounds as if you have paid somebody to do a job and they haven't finished doing it yet. If you are checking it yourself, then I'd suggest following stanleyman's suggestion of going over the circuit with a voltmeter in the hope of spotting where the circuit is broken. Whatever you do, don't wire the main beams to your sidelights. Apart from the fact that you'll be breaking the law by having headlights which won't dip (vehicle construction and use regulations) it would be really selfish of you to go around dazzling every other road user - probably likely to cause either an accident or a spate of road-rage sooner or later.
I would like to thank
