Ford Fiesta Radio Coding Difficulty

[CHPR]

I have an L reg Fiesta fitted with a FD2006 radio. The battery was disconnected to fit starter motor. On reconnecting the word Code and four dashes are displayed on the radio. I have the code number but not the handbook. The four dashes are not flashing and I believe they should consequently I have no idea how to insert the code number. I have tried all manner of buttons/combinations of buttons all without result.

Is there anyone out there who can help please?

i have a different radio but same problem, all i did with mine was used the radio preset buttons numbers 1 2 3 and 4 eg number 1 radio station for your 1 st code number number 2 radio station for the second till all 4 are in then press the on off switch, if you get locked out i think its only for 30 minutes then try again

when your doing it right the dashes should turn to asterisks as each number goes in (well mine did )GOOD LUCK

Thanks for your reply but it doesn't answer my problem, none of the buttons will input information, I have access to the manual for a FD6006 radio which tells me to iinput using buttons 1-4 then confim with button 5, I have tried this but to no avail. It seems taht the radio is locked in some way

Hi Michael, i am having exactly the same problem with exactly the same car and radio, did you manage to solve the problem??

No I haven't been able to solve as yet, but I am told the radio may free itself by disconnecting the battery again and reconnecting, this I haven't yet tried.

i've now solved the problem. Half hour drive with the radio on the CODE - - - - screen and eventually they started flashing and let me input the code.
