What are the details involed in giving my daughter my car and using her older one to part exchange

Some dealers will accept a car not in your name, like this one:

"My part-exchange is in someone else’s name, does this matter?

As long as the vehicle’s owner is available to sign the transfer documents or you can bring a letter of authority with the signed documentation that’s fine"

So ask the dealer.

Then it's just a matter of informing the DVLA about the transfer of ownership of your car. You can do it online

Have done exactly that several times. The only matter the dealer has to be confident of is that there is no criminality involved.  Within the family, no problem.
