My Very First Parking Penalty Notice!
Got this yesterday at my local huge shopping centre (can't bear 'mall') for failing to display the disabled badge. My own fault entirely, I did forget.
Took oldster for her appointment and she was out the car and nearly run over before I'd parked up. Haven't seen her move that fast for years
The glares I got when we came back to the car was worse than the ticket. Deafened by the tutting
Got home, opened the bag and a card dropped out. It said take the ticket, the badge and the badge holder to customer services before 4pm and the notice will be cancelled!
Off I trotted again with oldster in the back seat - I learned my lesson. All done and dusted in five minutes.
This parking company is renowned for successfully taking people to court for not paying up. Nice to see they have a sensible approach, too.
Now I've had my first parking ticket can I call myself a proper driver or a forgetful twit?

and plead that you had the disabled card but unaccountably forgot to show it, and on proportionality - since you had a right to park there but forgot the tweiddly bits ( showing the card) you should be excused#

I recall years ago when my Mother had been robbed by a scrote in her home. The following day I took her into town to get various replacements, parked in a disabled space and we slowly walked to the Town Hall. Coming out it was bouncing with rain so I ran over to the car and was stopped by a traffic warden. I explained the situation but finished up driving him over to the Twon Hall to see my Mum!
