this car has 18000 service intervals, others beware normal service intervals would give reports on pads
Renault washing hands of warrenty but how ironic that they sell the car giving the confidence of 18000 service intervals,
has anyone else experienced the same.
Have a look at the discs with a torch. If there is a noticeable "lip" at the outer edge (around 1mm or more) then they will need changing. Ideally take off the wheel, borrow a pair of vernier calipers and measure the disc thickness (on the worn area). Then call up Renault and ask them what the acceptable minumum disc thickness is.
DIscs wear more than they used to and many manufacturers blame the new asbestos-free brake pad materials. VW/SEAT are the worst - often a new set of discs with each set of pads.
This unfortunately is not likely to be a warranty item - as it is wear and tear.

Most of the big dealers will when your car is in for service look for extra work to carry out,Chrysler do it to me on my voyagers, saying shall we do the brake pads as they wont reach the next service,Renault will do the same,i would expect your discs to be ok,but maybe nearing the limit,is the car auto as that accelerates the process.
